About the brand

Shades of Spring is a premium exotic fresh flower D2C brand that aims to keep the tradition of gifting flowers alive. The brand offers more than 500 varieties of fresh flowers delivered to customer’s doorsteps within 42-78 hours of harvest. The brand currently operates in four major cities in India. Their primary focus lies on DIY subscription kits that allow buyers to customize their bouquets as per the occasion. These subscriptions can also be gifted to someone else with a personalized touch.`

Problem Statement

In today’s market, being a digital florist is tough as the purchases are either one-time or have a very huge time gap between subsequent purchases. That’s why the brand always had a clear goal of converting one-time visitors/buyers into recurring DIY kit subscribers and increasing the frequency of repeat purchases from nonsubscribers. The brand wanted its customers to try various products from its vast collection of exotic flowers for their personal use & gifting, This could be made a reality only with the use of up-sell and cross-sell techniques.

Even though the brand was actively using various communication channels such as Email, WhatsApp, SMS, & web push notifications, the marketing data was scattered across multiple apps. With only a few active automation flows, the brand was majorly engaging with its customers over independent campaigns, missing out on several marketing opportunities & capabilities that are only possible if all the channels work in harmony with other eCommerce-centric functions such as review collection, support ticketing, customer data collection, etc.

Success Criteria

The brand was looking for a solution that could help them reduce its TBP (Time between purchases) by retaining its one-time visitors and encouraging them to purchase more frequently. This required the brand to build a stronger relationship with its customers, for which all its marketing/brand communications had to be correlated.

The standard marketing campaigns only let merchants send communications on certain occasions or events. The reality, however, is completely different. Any brand in a similar line of business must nudge and engage with their customers relentlessly. To avoid excessively spamming the customers, these communications have to be tagged along with intent-based behavioral, and transactional actions.

In order to achieve this, the brand needed to establish a personal 1-on-1 connection with its buyers not only to gain their loyalty towards the brand but also to decipher each customer’s persona. Traditionally in this industry, it is recommended to have certain customer data handy such as birthdays, anniversaries, and life events in order to make campaigns & messages highly personal to the customer.

These requirements led Shades of Spring to evaluate SuperAGI to drive its retention marketing activities.

SuperAGI’s Solution and Approach

SuperAGI offered a one-stop solution to all the problems the brand faced by deeply integrating with their Shopify store. Since Shades of Springs was using multiple apps to engage with its customers, the very first essential step was to migrate all its historic data and replicate the tech stack onto SuperAGI.

SuperAGI offered a dedicated onboarding & success manager to the brand who was responsible for the initial migration of data. The team directly coordinated with the brand owners to understand the requirements precisely and plan the migration accordingly to avoid any downtime for the brand. Thus, the brand observed a best-in-the-industry Time-to-activation (TTA) of just 3 days that included an initial account setup, migration of historical data, and consolidation of reviews from all the marketplaces & previously used reviews app. SuperAGI also assisted the brand further in enabling all the marketing channels such as SMS, & WhatsApp on SuperAGI that included taking care of the:

Since the brand’s primary goal was to improve the repeat purchase frequency, new high-performance cross-channel automation flows were designed for the brand. The visitors’ behavioral data was segmented in accordance with specific product categories and category-wise repeat purchase cross-sell & upsell automation flows were enabled.

With SuperAGI, the brand was able to create multiple communication touchpoints across all major ecommerce centric channels to be able to communicate with its customers frequently. This also helped the brand to improve its recall value.

Apart from the migration of existing reviews & mapping products to the marketplaces, SuperAGI also helped the brand to enable much more sophisticated use cases such as an on-page review showcase, and a dedicated reviews page for better social proofing. In addition, SuperAGI also enabled review collection automation whenever a new customer completes a purchase. Encourages them to submit a review by incentivizing them with a discount coupon and recommending products to influence their next purchase.

To make all the communications highly personalized, SuperAGI also enabled the brand to collect zero-party data directly from the visitors using behavior-based targeted forms.

The brand also uses a timer block on its pop-up forms to create a sense of urgency among website visitors to encourage a purchase or signup.

The brand also uses SuperAGI to offer 1-on-1 support to their customers using Conversations over SMS & Whatsapp. That offers the brand to manage all its support queries from a single view within the SuperAGI dashboard.

Overall eliminating the juggling between multiple apps to manage their store & marketing activities. That lead the brand to grow its sales revenue by 10% month on month within 2 months of activating SuperAGI on their Shopify store. Today, SuperAGI contributes nearly 35% of the brand’s monthly revenue with 63% of it coming from WhatsApp.
